Abby Cullen, PhD
Curriculum vitae: Cullen, Abigail CV 2021

My name is Abby Cullen and I received my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Florida State University in 2016. Immediately after I enrolled in the doctoral program within the College of Human Sciences at Florida State University where I received my PhD in exercise physiology in 2020. My doctoral research focused on the development and progression of atherosclerosis specifically regarding the phenotypic switch of vascular smooth muscle cells. The nutritional impact of a high fat diet on atherosclerosis was one of the focuses of my in vivo studies and continues to be of interest to me. I hope to expand my knowledge of the aging cardiovascular system while working in the Walker lab and to continue to study nutritional interventions in the future. When not in the lab, I am often found reading/listening to a book, hiking with my husband, or tending to my unhealthy obsession with my houseplants and garden.
