Jessie Peterson

Jessie became fascinated with anatomy after growing up in a household with a first responder. She became interested in research when she was studying pre-physical therapy and became an undergraduate assistant at the Biomechanics Laboratory at Cal Poly Humboldt in 2012, under the guidance of Dr. Justus Ortega. She became especially curious about motor development and mild traumatic brain injuries during this time. In 2022, Jessie joined Dr. Walker’s Aging and Vascular Physiology Lab. She is interested in sex differences in the vasculature caused by aging and other pathological brain states.
